    Twins Game

    May 30, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

Got the opportunity to travel to Target Field and see the Twins play the Royals. Beautiful weather. Great company.
I went with Jeanine, Mark, Dan, Jon, Kate, and Netanya.

  • Minneapolis venture

    June 1, 2024 in the United States ⋅ 🌩️ 68 °F

Kate, Netanya, and I went to Minneapolis to visit the romance bookstore Tropes and Trifles. Kate and I headed to downtown Minneapolis to visit the Sculpture Garden with the cherry on the spoon as the landmark sculpture for who knows what reason. We also went to the Walker Art Museum across the street and the Harding exhibit. I'm not always an art museum person, but that exhibit met my fancy.
After an afternoon of fun, we went home to cool off and relax. I did a little work before dinner. After dinner, Kate and I went out for drinks before coming home and inviting Netanya down for a girl talk and drinks.

  • Sunday Adventures

    June 2, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 70 °F

Sunday morning, I went to church. I love visiting Orthodox churches when I travel. It's always home for me. I enjoy getting to meet other Orthodox people and expanding my network. Holy Trinity OCA was no exception. Small world, the priest at Holy Trinity knows the priest at the church I grew up in as he (Fr. Christopher) is from MN originally.
After church, we went to Mall of America because well, I was in the area and seemed like a place to mark as seen. It was pretty cool. There's an indoor aquarium, an amusement park, and of course all kinds of stores, one being the M & M store. Now, I've been to the M & M store in Vegas and Minneapolis.

  • Stillwater and Minnehaha

    June 4, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 79 °F

Monday was a work day, so Tuesday before heading to the airport for my evening flight, Kate took me over to Stillwater, MN, a quaint river town. It reminds me of going to Rockport, MA or Kennebunkport, ME. Lots of cute shops, great restaurant (we ate at The Wild Hare). Since school is still in session for another week, the town and shops weren't overcrowded by any means, which made the browsing more enjoyable.
Since we still had time, we made one last stop to the Minnehaha Falls. Pretty cool to see a waterfall in the middle of the city.
Because I made it to the airport early, I got on the standby list. I happened to not only make standby, catching a 90 minute earlier flighrt, I also got an upgrade to comfort+.
I had a wonderful time. I loved seeing my colleagues at CSP and especially hanging out with Kate outside of the office, especially the virtual meeting space. She's truly a gem of a person and friend.
