Skyway Farms - Elsberry, Missouri

This week we coordinated a trip to the repair shop with a stop at an area Harvest Host.

First, it's crazy how our ONE hour repair turned into a FIVE hour wait AND it was STILL not fixed when we left SO after driving around the block we pulled back onto the Bill Thomas camper lot and had them finish the job!!! Every single person we've dealt with there have been good people.... but BILL THOMAS CAMPER SALES apparently has too few folks to keep up with their work or just shit systems in place to maintain their once well established reputation. So sad to have a challenging experience with nearly every single interaction with this company.

After all that WAITING we were super ready to hit the road and get to our destination for the night... Skyway Farms was an awesome stop. It's a remote, quiet, family farm/venue and such a fantastic asset to the Lincoln county area! Our hostess introduced us to each of their animals BY NAME and drove us all around the property! They are deservedly proud of the farm property which has been in their family since the 1940s. Grandma herself planted these hundreds of cedar trees that line the loooong driveway back to the original family farm house!

For our drive home I decided to take the long scenic route, only to find the Hardin bridge over the Illinois river was under construction and too narrow for our 8.5' trailer. SO we followed the detour and discovered it included a free ferry ride - our first with the camper in tow!
