We arrived in Madeira!

And now we know why everyone was applauding when the plane landed.... because the runway is so short they had to extend it on a huge supporting structure before planes crashed into the ocean (google madeira runway for more scary information)! ✈

Then we set off on our way to the other side of the island to our hotel, had some time to kill, so we stopped at a cute little tea house🏠 on the way where an adorable elderly couple made us tea fresh from the garden (and gave us some fresh leaves 🌱to take with us to brew up more tea at the B&B, and of course the owners know each other) and gave us self made "firewater" (sugar cane booze and holy hell it burned all the way down).
