Ragnar and Spidey were a big crowd pleaser at this year's festival. Many people stopped to talk and take pictures as we explored the vendors, and later when we stopped to eat. Food choices seemed slim, with extreme cultural flair. We ate hotdogs. The olives weren't the same as last year. The beer was cool, not cold - and it was only about noon.
We watched the Hastings Ukulele Band and the opening ceremonies, then discovered the remaining day time entertainment was on the street. Too hot for that, so we wandered down to the river, relaxed in the shade, ate ice cream, and I waded in to the water. Music resumed on the main stage at 4pm, but the idea of going back and baking my brain in the sun was too off putting. We packed up and called it a day. Returned to the boat, where it was 30°C, and realized we should have just stayed at the river.Weiterlesen
