The Fjordland

We left Oslo on a bright sunny morning, taking the train to Voss. The Scandinavians like many parts of Europe have a fabulous train system. Easy to navigate, clean, comfortable, connect well and are pretty much on time. Passing through picture postcard scenery we watched the countryside get deeper and deeper in snow. Today it was off on the Norway in Nutshell tour which pretty much any tourist does but I have to say while it is fairly low key it was stunning. A one hour bus trip to Gudvangen, to then board a boat for a two hour cruise that sails between Gudvangen and Flåm via the Sognefjord, past tiny villages. The sound on the video clip is not wind it is the boat sailing through ice and breaking it up. Finally we boarded the Flåm railway on our way back and were treated at every turn to stunning snowy scenery. Tomorrow we are going to give skiing a go at the Voss Resort.
