So... Don from Woodstock Harley saw us riding thru town, saw the Kiwi flags on our bikes & followed us as he thought we were lost. This was on at Springfield Illinois. On route 66. We were told it was the big thing to see here. Tried my first corn dog & battered cheese stick. Absolutely disgusting & never having another one of either of those. Listened to the Gettysburg address from Abe Lincoln. He was fantastic, loved his job & spoke only in the first person. Incredible. Also picked up this little kinda ten's machine, real small that I'll start using on my leg (explain that later too). 31deg here need some free way riding on this part. This was the guy that started America's first drive thru. Apparently he just cut a hole out of the side of his house. Was selling hamburgers but the sign was originally made to small to fit the whole name on so they called it Reds Hamburg instead of Reds Hamburgers. The first town the locals say is famous for catfish & pecan nuts. Meet some local farmers who sent us to a wreckers yard where we met Josh who threw us some Kansas plates. Picked up a vibration thru the bike from yesterday & was already told my front tyre was on the minimum tread depth while in Milwaukee. Thought I'd risk carrying on as we'd had no rain to date. Well with the rain this morning & the vibration becoming a bit more of a worry we drove into route 66 Harley Davidson in Tulsa for a checkover & they've put 2 new tyres on the rod. Back was flat in the centre & front was definitely toast. Hopefully this will remove vibration also. Now 40deg C in Tulsa & very very humid! 😢En savoir plus

Bad weather here forced us back to Wheeler for dinner. Never have I seen such a storm or felt the effects of it. We could see the lightning coming down straight & thought we may go around it but even at the outer edge we were toast. Massively soaked in seconds we turned back. These pics don't do it justice.
