Day 3 Wed Turtles and Rest
May 25, 2022 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C
Getting up today was easier after getting some decent sleep. No major plans for the day other than a walk in a Nature Park with Phoenix….. so brekky was leisurely.
After brekky we had some down time while Jess worked…then all headed to Huron Nature Park.
Lots to take in with little wild flowers everywhere…so, so green. Heaps of turtles laying around in the sun, they weren’t very big turtles compared to some at home…but very cute all lined up on branches coming out of the water…A large bird looked like a crane not sure what it was….
We got half way around, when Jess remembered FEDEX was coming to pick up John’s Covid Test..So sadly we didn’t get to see the rest of the Park….Tim was telling us that only a few weeks back the area was covered in Snow and people would ski through it…hard to believe with the green canopy up top and green carpet below it was covered with Snow….we have no concept of the huge change in seasons as they do here…
Maybe some of you know my story of my good 5600 Nikon DSLR with 18-300mm lens being stolen last year while in Brisbane…the buggars broke into my little car went through the backpack I have with me at present and only took out what pertained to my camera…left the rest…I was devastated as it had heaps of picks still on it from our trip to Victoria we had been on only a few weeks before…any Tim was so moved by my extreme devastation that he offered to buy me a new camera 📷…. We discussed it for quite a while before his suggestion of going to a Mirrorless Camera…. Long story I finally bought a Z5 Nikon which was nearly the latest then with the biggest lens I could get which was a 28-200mm. Since getting it I have really struggled to get it to work for me as well as I did the 5600….. every time I use it I get frustrated with the zoom capacity and clarity of the lens….so this morning it was about trying it out to get the hang of this rotten camera…I have been avoiding using it with not being happy with its over all outcomes….but it was worth a lot of money and I have to get my head around it…
So back we go to home…..John and I sit down to watch a YouTube tutorial on the Nikon……ohh my goodness it’s really a complicated little computer…and my Jet-lagged brain 🧠is not taking in what needs to take in….I am sure this camera will do my head in…
Tim and Jess decide to make home made pizzas 🍕….the pastry was just great and the flavours very yummy…. The afternoon was spent watching Jurassic Park…..and more of our Around the world in 80days…. Late dinner of Antipasto foods again very yummy…
Phoenix has decided he loves John and I and wants to sit on my lap every time I sit….I am not a doggy person at all…but this little fellow has widdled his way into my heart…he is very soft very little hair and gets bathed all the time so smells very clean…
All in all a good Day….Read more
