Day 14 Sun - The Hard Goodbyes!
June 5, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C
I woke with a massive headache 🤕 during the night and had to try and open new bottle of Tylenol like Panadol in the dark….my glory it was like trying to pick a lock open….took forever to work out how the old come off but I did eventually….
We had gone to bed very, very late it was after 12 mn before we got to bed all chatting being able to finally stop and be together…
Still a bit there when I got up but did the blog from the day before my readings, then packed up all my gear which yes I have far too much of as usual…I just never get to learn how to be frugal with my packing….
Once packed I headed down to get our last breaky started….I took over probably shouldn’t have but went into my cook mode and whipped up a storm to share in our last meal together in our lovely Airbnb….
The ladies were all slow to get going today with us all having such a massive day at the falls, all their flying and driving for Bretta Dawn and Paige…plus all our chatting and the very late night…
Breaky done we had our last meal together….then set about packing all our stores we bought which most of it being donated to Heather as she is our closet one here only an 1 and 1/2 down the road to home….
We managed to get some pics on the Top step just before we headed off to be our keepsake of remembrance of our precious time together….Bretta had made each one of us a bracelet to also remember our sisterhood and the special time shared..
All packed we said our last goodbyes to the Airbnb and set off to just spend the day together somewhere we could just sit around and enjoy each other’s company…
In US Niagara that is hard I can tell you it’s so devoid of places to meet up other than around the actual falls parklands….so we ended up parking near there and tried to find a spot to sit and relax..
Our first spot inside the tourist centre all looking at touristy things, then getting a table in a very noisy eatery, bonus was we hit to buy a coffee, some drinks and some food….Paige bought a massive Banana and Caramel Crepe ohh my goodness it was lovely but very rich….good thing a few were sharing it….
Once done we tried sitting in the parklands but far too sunny…so off we set to find a shady spot, which we eventually did and it was perfect….plenty of metal chairs and shade to just relax….
So here we sat for the next couple of hours soaking up our conversation, laughter and tears…it was a perfect way to finish this special time together….For the ladies they have promised each other to meet again… most likely in Bowling Green Kentucky with Paige in her massive beautiful home….
It was sadly time for Judy and I to set off across the Border to Canada once more…. our big hugs and tears made it hard to walk away from this wonderful group of string women who each of us love each other dearly……
The line up was long and slow….you go across the Rainbow Bridge which goes right over the end of the US side of the Falls…sadly due to high guard rails you couldn’t see anything other than very high rises on the Canadian side….
Finally at another border crossing you would think I would be fine with going through so many this last few months, Thailand, then in to Canada 🇨🇦then the USA 🇺🇸 and now back to Canada 🇨🇦, but I get nervous every time….
The Immigration female officer was polite but very offical as they should be…Asking all the questions, about what we bought, did we have alcohol…..what we had done, asking Judy about her Covid Vaccination status….which she doesn’t have but had Covid only about 6 weeks ago which gives her a status report…..
Judy had organised a wonderful Spa and Meal package at a Resort on this sure if the border for the night ….So we drive there where John picked me up….Tim and Jess were at a Brewery waiting for us to join them…
A try of a Pink Cider and some if a Fresh Pretzel 🥨 which became my dinner a quick catch up on what they had all been doing while I was with the ladies, then back to our A
BnB bed and breaky….
Not quite where I envisioned it being by the Lake as it is described as Niagara on the Lake….it is surrounded by very flash massive homes and fields out our window…but not self contained a bit small compared to our last treasure us ladies had….
Still it’s a bed and I don’t have to cook breaky in the morning ha ha as it’s part of the package supplied being a Bed and Breaky…
All tired off to bed..Read more
