Day 21 - Rest, Pics and Phoenix!

Another day to just stop and collect our thoughts, more trip planning and downloading for the 1,000’s of pics I took over the last 3 days…. My goodness did I get carried away…
Took another 2 1/2 hrs to download…slow old process…but as said before if I let it get to many days I can’t keep up with it…does my head in…
Spent the afternoon with John, Tim and Jess all looking for accommodation near Yellowstone NP ohhh my glory is it ridiculous pricing to go to this…even towns 2-3 hrs away have high pjs Jed their prices to a ridiculous amount…the sad fact is we are hitting this area at peak time it will be the 2-4th July and it’s right in the middle of summer holidays for the US….we couldn’t avoid it at this time due to the mileages we will be doing just to see what we are seeing…
It reminds me of trying to find cheap accommodation in Italy 🇮🇹 on our 2018 trip we hit there at peak tourist season too and to be honest I did better with cheaper accommodation there than over here….my glory do they milk the tourist with accommodation hikes during the peak times….

We will be working till we die for this trip I am sure….crazy even food is so much dearer…every time we hit Farm Boy to buy a few items it cost 💲 nearly or over $100, for not much to show for it….I know our prices are going up too but I still think we are cheaper, plus they add all those taxes onto it at the checkout which we don’t have to think about, it’s done for us…

The afternoon also was spent with Phoenix getting me to take him outside…funny little fellow…he monitors those squirrels like a guard dog…the slightest presence and he fires down the steps flys up the back yard and jumps around like a bunny trying to get to this pesky squirrels….at one stage he insisted on getting on my lap and I am not a dog person as I said before but he convinces me with his sweet eyes…I thought he wanted just some loving…but soon realised the only reason he was on my lap was to monitor those darn squirrels from a higher vantage point…crazy dog…his heart and breathing was going a 1,000 mph as he sat there waiting to attack….ha ha very clever little character he is…

We had an early dinner with Tim making very crispy yummy chicken wings, I revamped our salad from last night with prawns….ohh my goodness they were the most tasteless prawns I have ever had…devoid of any flavour…. Good thing I made a yummy sauce to go with it…

Then after dinner we all headed to like a gold Class at the movies they call it VIP here so we could see the new Jurassic Park movie….predicable as always but not too bad to see on the big screen….

Another day gone, pics sorted, some more accommodation sorted all the poorer for it…but how blessed we are to get the opportunity even if we will have to move in with each one of you reading this for the next part of our lives to pay for it 🤪🤪🤪😂😂😂😂😂Read more
