Best Day so far

Was für ein Tag!

Wir waren um 8:00 vom Campingplatz weg. Dann ging es auf die Straße und was wir alles gesehen haben 🤩

Erst einmal Kaffee. Wir haben entdeckt, dass es hier an jeder Ecke kleine Buden gibt in dem man Kaffee holen kann. Und zwar nicht wie in Deutschland der billige Filterkaffee, nein es gibt Cappuccino, Latte und all den fancy Städter kram! Wir wollen KAFFEE! Also halten wir spontan an der nächsten Stelle an der es passt, und was soll ich sagen. Er ist super lecker! Definitiv große Pluspunkte für das Land in unseren Augen.

Mit einem leckeren Cappuccino gutem Wetter und super Laune fahren wir weiter. Spontan halten wir an einem Rastplatz und entdecken, dass er ungefähr so groß wie ein ganzer Park ist mit Zugang zum Strand...
Am Strand angekommen fliegen direkt zwei Weißkopfseeadler über unsere Köpfe. Wir sind etwas erstaunt, und ich hab meine Kamera nicht dabei. Warum auch, wir dachten es ist ein normaler Rastplatz 😂

Der nächste Punkt an dem wir halten nennt sich Heceta Lighthouse. Wir sehen direkt das Schild für Ticketing, diesmal nicht!!!! Wir zahlen unsere Gebühr.
Die Wanderung zum Leuchtturm ist leicht aber wunderschön, man hört die Seelöwen heulen (arwarwar!) und manchmal auch zwei drei im Wasser springen.
Nachdem wir wieder unten am Strand sind, genießen wir unser Frühstück am Strand, was ein Ausblick 🤩

Der nächste Stop führt uns zu Face Rock, wir haben keine Ahnung warum er so heißt. Der Ausblick ist nett, wir notieren uns den Punkt für ein späteres wieder kommen wenn weniger los ist.

Nach 3 Stunden sind wir endlich dort, wo wir eigentlich hin wollten. Wir checken schnell ins Hotel ein und beeilen uns zum Einstiegspunkt zu kommen. Wir haben noch eine kleine Wanderung vor uns und diesmal wollen wir nicht den Sonnenuntergang verpassen!
Die Wanderung ist Steil aber machbar, uns erwartet ein Schauspiel wie aus einer anderen Welt. Der Seenebel blockiert die Sonne aber kreiert eine gespenstische Atmosphäre, die Felsen sind nur zu erwahnen und wir machen ein paar Fotos. Wow! Die Natur hier ist so unglaublich schön, wir können noch immer nicht glauben was wir alles heute gesehen haben 🥹

🇬🇧 What a day!

We left the campsite at 8:00 am and hit the road. Oh, the sights we've seen! 🤩

First things first: coffee. We discovered that there are little coffee stands on every corner here, and not just the cheap filter coffee like in Germany. No, there's cappuccino, latte, and all that fancy city stuff! We want COFFEE! So, we spontaneously stop at the next suitable spot, and what can I say? It's delicious! Definitely major brownie points for the country in our eyes.

With a delicious cappuccino, great weather, and high spirits, we continue. Spontaneously, we stop at a rest area and discover that it's about the size of an entire park with beach access...
Upon reaching the beach, two bald eagles fly directly over our heads. We're a bit astonished, and I didn't bring my camera. Why would I? We thought it was just a regular rest area 😂

The next stop we make is at Heceta Lighthouse. We see the sign for ticketing directly, this time not!!!! We pay our fee.
The hike to the lighthouse is easy but beautiful. You can hear the sea lions howling (arwarwar!) and sometimes see a couple of them jumping in the water.
After we're back down at the beach, we enjoy our breakfast on the beach. What a view! 🤩

The next stop takes us to Face Rock, and we have no idea why it's called that. The view is nice, and we note the spot for a later return when it's less crowded.

After 3 hours, we're finally where we wanted to go. We quickly check into the hotel and rush to the trailhead. We have a little hike ahead of us, and this time, we don't want to miss the sunset!
The hike is steep but doable, and we're in for a spectacle from another world. The sea fog blocks the sun but creates a eerie atmosphere. The rocks are barely visible, and we snap a few photos. Wow!
