    Driving Creek Railroad

    September 16, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

A brilliant little railroad, climbing through native forest to a panoramic view of the Coromandel area. NZ's only narrow-gauge mountain railroad.

NZ-famous potter, Barry Brickell, converted some nice farmland back to original NZ native forest. He originally bought the land as it had ideal clay for making pottery and a ready supply of firewood for the kiln. The railroad was built to bring logs for firewood down to the pottery but has become quite a visitor attraction!Read more
