Forgotten World Rail trip day 1

First half of our rail trip - Taumaranui to Whangamomona. Sure see the world through a different lens doing this. A lot of history through the King Country ... a jail, towns, brick factory, coal mining and just the construction of the railroad itself. 20 tunnels, untold bridges, and great views.
We tootle along at 22kmh max in a rail-converted golf cart, stop at the points of interest with morning tea lunch and afternoon tea included. Awesome day, finishing with a night on the republic of Whangamomona!Läs mer
