Claerddu Bothy

Friday: 15 minutes north of Teifi pools I came across Claerddu Bothy. This was the first time I had encountered a Bothy. It was some distance off the road. Although my photographs show a stone track, this did not extend to the road. So vituling must be by hand or off road vehicles e.g. quad bikes. It seems a Bothy is a building set up to provide basic shelter to walkers. It had platforms for beds, basic cooking using bottled gas, an outside toilet, a wood store and no electricity.
