Finally embarking on a trip to explore China, beginning with quick stops in Japan and Hong Kong before visiting our relatives in Macau and Zhongshan China. It’s been 17 years since my last visit (barring long layovers in HK), definitely so far a lifetime for some.
The flight here has already had me thinking about taking time to reflect on the present as well and ponder about the future. In the meantime, I’ll be travelling with my sister for the first time outside of long weekends. It definitely will be a different experience navigating through China compared to other countries. Restricted use of apps, payment methods and things that can’t be booked too far ahead. For once I can middle through the local language but I’ll definitely be taking advantage of her better mandarin.
