Fjallsárlón Glacial Lagoon

This is very different to Jökulsárlón in that it is much less intimate - the drifting ice is much further away and less of it, though perhaps this was simply as it is now, today as Jökulsárlón had changed a lot just overnight, after all. One difference, however, is the glacier that spawns the icebergs is much more imposing, as you can see.

We stayed about an hour with the light changing every few minutes, but the location simply doesn't compare to the stunning beauty of Jökulsárlón and its beach of diamonds.Read more
