Staying at the InterContinental Hotel - a beautiful Colonial-style hotel with excellent service and amenities.
Went to the Peranakan Museum yesterday and it's well worth a visit. The Peranakan are a mix of Malay, Indian and Chinese heritage and the women were expert embroiderers. Saw an exquisite tablecloth embroidered with over one million tiny coloured beads and gold thread. The Wedding exhibit was amazing - Peranakan weddings traditionally went for 12 days and the exhibits higlight each stage of the wedding ritual.
