Finca El Pilar

After a lovely breakfast at our hotel in Antigua, we set out on our first adventure to the wonderful pine-oak forests of Finca El Pilar. As soon as we got off the coach we got a first glimpse of a Black-headed Siskin, perched high up on a Pine tree.   
As the crisp morning air became mid morning, we checked off the beautiful Buff-breasted Flycatcher, Eastern Bluebirds, Guatemalan Flicker and the regional endemic Black-capped Swallow. We ventured a little further into the forest where we had the good fortune to observe a stunning Hooded Grosbeak male.

We had lunch by the hummingbirds, enjoying the pleasant climate of the Guatemalan highlands, where we all enjoyed watching a pair of Rufous Sabrewing, among other stunning hummingbirds.もっと詳しく
