Outward journey Stop one (drink)

Today, we are on our way down to Portsmouth from York in order to catch our ferry to France. Due to the length of the drive, breaks are necessary, so this was stop 1 - drink break.

We've now arrived in Newbury and feeling peckish. That can only mean one thing. Lunch time. Pizza Express works nicely so we eat there!

We are now boarded. 15 minutes till sail away, so perfect time for another pint while up on deck. We are travelling by Brittany Ferries St Malo to the port of the same name.

And now we leave to cross the channel. Goodbye England, see you in 2 weeks! Thr crossing is overnight and gets in early tomorrow.

We have arrived in france. Ferry got in at 8:15am french time. 2 hours drive to the gîte we are staying in now. So music on enjoying the beautiful scenery.
We arrived and explored Erdeven

After arriving in Erdeven, it was too early to go to the gîte. So, we explored the village of Erdeven. We got sandwiches from the boulangerie for lunch after exploring the market.
We also explored a beach

After exploring Erdeven, we still had a little time to kill, so we visited a beach and had a little nosey. It was flanked by a sand dune. A beautiful beach.

Exploring Étel

Isle de St Cado

This afternoon, we did a bit of an explore around the isle de St Cado. St Cado was a saint originally from Wales in the UK. The island offers many beautiful views of the river Étel estuary.

And to finish the explore of the Étel estuary, we went down to see the big waves formed by the Étel sand bar. Now it's time to head for tea.
Dinner at the creperie

And for dinner, we ate galetes and crepes from a creperie in Erdeven. Another fantastic day.
La Trinité sur Mer

This morning, we had a walk around La Trinité sur Mer. And saw a load of sailing boats in the marina. Including several large racing yachts
Chill beach afternoon

This afternoon, we lounged on the beach. It was nice to finally get a swim in the sea. I also built a stone cairn - don't worry, I knocked it down after to maintain the bug habitat on the beach.
BBQ dinner to finish the day

After our trip out we had barbecue for dinner. The weather today has been delightful. Now for an evening of games.
Little Train ride by the coast

This morning, we went on a little tourist land train on a loop around the coast of carnac and la Trinité sur Mer. The trip also passed by the alignments of many standing stones in the area.
