Ponyo Town

Tomonoura is one of the oldest villages in Japan and also the inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki’s film Ponyo. Locations based on real life include the road along the harbor, the rocky beach where Sosuke finds Ponyo, Sosuke’s school, the house on the hill with its red roof, and the observation deck up the mountain.
