Not that you can get much of an impression in the short time I've been on board.
But the Ovation ots does seem big bold and busy.
I suppose that could be with the passengers being 99% British and relatively young.
She doesn't seem to have the relaxed atmosphere of the Anthem or the Quantum, but that could just be me getting old and liking the smaller quieter ships, lol.
Having said that she is beautiful and the panda climbing down the side of the ship to reach it's baby, is really quite cute.
She has all the usual Quantum class amenities such as the North Star, Sky Fly, bumper cars etc.
So as with the other ships in this class and the Oasis class, she is more suited to young families and the more adventurous amongst us.もっと詳しく

What a memory

Well, Sheila and I are walking along by the 270° lounge, when we are stopped by one of the staff who obviously knew us.
So I said I remember the face but didn't know what ship we knew him from.
So after he'd had a bit of fun watching us struggle to remember, he tells us that he was our table waiter, on the Legend of the seas on our far east cruise in 2010!!
What a memory.
His name is Sashko, and he's come a long way from being our table waiter.
It turns out that he's now manager of the Jamie Oliver restaurant on board, and he's invited us along with Maz and Sue for a meal tomorrow night.
I'll tell you what, our recent experiences on Royal have been brilliant.
I just hope that the 24 night transpacific cruise next week is on par with the last few cruises that we've done.

It's nice when you know people

First night in the concierge lounge and the company is already 16 strong with people who we know from other cruises, which is on of the things I love about the diamond and concierge lounges.
Also there are a few of the officers that we know from other ships which is also nice.
Anyway today is Rotterdam in the Netherlands and I've never been here so I probably will have a walk off the ship as we apparently are docked right in the town.もっと詳しく

Well we're back at Southampton, after a very pleasant 3 nights on board the Ovation.
It's a lovely ship and many people will enjoy it, especially young families, which is really what it is aimed at.
As good as it is, it can be a bit impersonal, and busy, busy, busy.
Which is not for me nowadays.
But forgetting old farts like me, the ship deserves an 8/10 for all the things to see and do on board.もっと詳しく
