FP update 3/14 Lincoln Museum, Hodgenvil

We visited this small town that is the birthplace of one of the most important US Presidents! The Lincoln Museum highlights his humble beginnings and the journey to the Presidency when he became our 16th Commander in Chief.

Here are some fun facts about him:
(*) President during one of our most difficult times as a country, The Civil War.
(*) He was a Republican
(*) Wrote the Emancipation Proclamation
(*) The infamous Gettysburg address - “Four Score and seven years ago….” It was a speech that was adlibbed. He pitched his prepared remarks and spoke from the heart ♥️
(*) There are 77,000 published books about his life
(*) His influence and admiration stretch far beyond our borders…he has Global impact. There are Statues of Lincoln in many countries outside of the USA.
(*) He is one of the most sculpted, photographed, and painted individuals in history

We meandered over to the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park. This is where Abraham Lincoln was born and lived until he headed North to Illinois. The large building encompasses a symbolic log cabin that is representative of the times Lincoln grew up. There are 56 steps to get to the top which represent his 56 years of life.Læs mere
