II. ASI/SG - Singapur

Von Kuala Lumpur ging es mit dem Bus nach Singapur - so zumindest der Plan :P

Nachdem ich brav um halb 7 morgens mit meinen 10 + 5kg 20 Min an den Busbahnhof gelaufen bin, wollte der Bus Pacific Express leider nicht kommen.
Glücklicherweise gab es noch 3 Inder und Andy aus Singapur, die ebenso gebucht hatten. Wir haben dann herausbekommen, dass er aufgrund mangelnder Passagiere nicht fährt und wurden auf einen anderen Bus Five Stars 1h später umgebucht - der seinem Namen bzgl. Platz und Bequemlichkeit aber alle Ehre machte ;) Auch hier gibts jedoch wieder Kühlschranktemperaturen, also Schal und Jacke nicht vergessen :)

Tag 1:
Auf der Fahrt durch Malaysia gab es sehr viele Regenwälder und Palmen - es war sehr grün, man konnte leider aber auch die ganzen Abholzungen sehen.
- In Singapur selbst wurde ich nach der Grenzkontrolle erst mal von Regen begrüßt und dann von dem Mädel im Hostel als total sexy und super dünn gelobt, obwohl ich einfach nur mega fertig, nass und verschwitzt war :D
- Singapur als Stadt der Verbote und Strafen
Das Hostel selbst war total klasse, naja bis auf die Kühlschranktemperaturen im Dorm :P
V.a. hat man aber durch das Willkommensgetränk schon alle Verbote und Strafen vor Augen - Kaugummi als klassisches Beispiel 1000 SGD; dafür ist die Stadt aber super sauber und generell eher westlich und untypisch für Asien
- Lokales Essen: Laksa
Abends habe ich mir erst mal in einem kleinen lokalen Straßenrestaurant das Nationalgericht Singapurs gegönnt:
Laksa; eine Suppe auf Basis von Kokosmilch und Chilli, mit Reisnudeln, Gemüse und oft auch Fisch oder Krabben - sehr lecker :)
- Little India
Das gibt es natürlich auch hier - nur viel größer, beeindruckender und ja auch sauberer :)

Tag 2:
Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ich von dieser Stadt so begeistert sein würde - aber es gibt wirklich schöne Ecken und wenn man weiß wie, ist es auch gar nicht sooo teuer ;)
- Arab Quarter & Sultan Mosque
Singapur ist sehr multikulturell und so gibt es auch ein arabisches Viertel inkl. typischem Essen und jede Menge Moscheen.
- Suntec City & Fountain of Wealth
Ein großes Einkaufszentrum.
- Singapore Flyer
Eines der Wahrzeichen ist das Rießenrad, von dem aus man eine schöne Sicht auf Marina Bay hat.
- Marina Bay
Das Wahrzeichen und Skyline überhaupt:
Hier befinden sich die berühmte Helixbrücke, das blumenförmige Kunstwissenschaftsmuseum, das Esplanade-Theater sowie das weltberühmte Marina Bay Sands Hotel inkl. Infinity Pool, Sky Bar und Kasino.
- Gardens of the Bay
Wunderschöne Garten- und Grünanlage mit geschmückten Bäumen und jede Menge anderer Attraktionen.
- Chicken Rice
Ein weiteres typisches Gericht Singapurs, bestehend aus Huhn mit Reis sowie einer Suppe.
- Chinatown
Ein weiteres Viertel inkl. typisch chinesischen Tempeln, Einkaufsstraßen und Restaurants.
Hier gab es auch endlich einen Durian-Laden: Durian ist ebenso in Singapurs Küche verbreitet. Sie wird auch als Königin der Tropenfrüchte bezeichnet, riecht zwar etwas streng, aber soll gut schmecken - was ich leider nicht probieren konnte, da die Saison schon vorbei ist :(

Schöne Ecken zum ausgehen und feiern.
- Oyster Sauce Veg
Mein vegetarisches Abendessen ;)
- Merlian Park & Marina Bays abendliche Licht- und Wassershow
Abends war ich dann nochmal dort, dieses Mal bei Singapurs Wahrzeichen, dem weißen Tiger. Von dort aus konnte man super die Licht- und Wassershow beobachten; ein absolut schöner Moment :)))

In Sentosa war ich nicht, da ich bald ohnehin ein paar schöne entspannte Tage auf einer Insel verbringen werde :)))

From Kuala Lumpur I was trying to head to Singapore with the bus - at least that was the plan :P

Leaving in the early morning around 6:30 am with my 10+5kg luggage on a 20 min walk to the bus station the initial bus Pacific Express did not arrive.
Fortunately there were 3 Indians and Andy from Singapore who also booked this trip. We then figured out that it wasn't operating due to a shortage in passengers so that we were booked on another company 5 Stars 1 hr later - but it was worth it concerning space and comfortability ;) However, this one was again a huge fridge so never travel without scarf and jacket ;)

Day 1:
During our tour through Malaysia you could see many rain forests and palm trees - it was very green but unfortunately you could also see the deforestation.
- After the border formalities Singapore greeted me with rain; the girl in the hostel, however, was amazed at how sexy and skinny I am despite me being completely wasted, wet and sweaty :D
- Singapore, the fine city
The hostel itself was really nice, well apart from the fridge temperatures in the dorm :P
Thanks to the welcome drink I was immediately introduced to Singapore's don'ts and respective fines - with the typical example of chewing gym at 1000 SGD; but consequently the city is really green and in general rather western and untypical Asian
- Local food: Laksa
For dinner I enjoyed Singapore's national dish in a small street restaurant:
Laksa; a soup made of coconut milk and chilli, with rice noodles, vegetables and often also fish or crabs - very delicious :)
- Little India
For sure this also exists here - but a lot bigger, more impressive and yes, also cleaner :)

Day 2:
I didn't know that I would like this city that much - but there are really some nice places and if you know how it is also not that expensive ;)

Singapore is very multicultural and so there is also an Arabic quarter including typical food and a lot of mosques.
- Suntec City & Fountain of Wealth
A large shopping mall.
- Singapore Flyer
One of the most attractions from which you have a nice view of Marina Bay.
- Marina Bay
The most known attraction and skyline:
There you will find the famous Helix Bridge, the flower-type Arts Science Museum, the Esplanade Theatre as well as the world famous hotel Marina Bay Sands including infinity pool, skybar and casino.
- Gardens of the Bay
Beautiful gardens with nice trees and many other attractions.
- Chicken Rice
Another typical Singapore dish, chicken with rice and a soup.
- Chinatown
Another quarter including typical Chinese temples, shopping streets and restaurants.
There was finally also a Durian shop:
Durian is also famous in Singapore. It is known as the Queen of the Tropical Fruits. It might smell a bit weird but is said to be really tasty - which unfortunately I could not try as the season is already over :(

In the evening I came back again, this time to Singapore's most famous sight, the white tiger. This was the ideal spot to watch the nice light and water show; a really cool moment :)))
