David and I escaped for four nights to the beautiful Peak District. We Stayed in an AirBnB Cottage on the edge of the National Park. We walked for miles, visited caves, Chatsworth House and enjoyed Bakewell Tarts in Bakewell! Read more

We took a leisurely road trip North, watching the landscape change the further up the country we went. Bleak House Cottage, hosted by super host Maria, was perfect, set right on the edge of the National Park itself.Read more

Today we literally walked for miles trying to discover Lud’s Church in leekfrith – nearly gave up a couple of times, but once we’d found it we were glad we’d persevered! We then drove around exploring and finished up in the spa town of Buxton, taking a guided tour into the caves and soaking up a bit of history …Read more

Today we took a break from walking and went sightseeing instead. Chatsworth Park was a stunning as ever, but having previously visiting the house we gave that a miss. Baslow was next on the list for a quick cuppa, strolling around the village whilst I reminisced about spending time here as a child when visiting Aunty May. Our final day we hiked high up into the hills around Wetton in search of Thors cave. It was quite a trek but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the views from the top were inspiring. Afterwards we headed back to the cottage via the moors, finishing up at the local pub for a well-deserved pint.
