Rome Layover
23. kesäkuuta 2025, Italia ☀️ 27 °C
Got our bags from United and then went to the Left Luggage, which means luggage storage. Our first cup of espresso and pizza for breakfast. Then we took the train into Rome Termini.

No data, no wifi due to technical difficulties, but managed to buy a 24 hr local bus ticket for 7 euros and gave ourselves the hop on hop off tour for a fraction of the cost. We also got to see a bunch of tourists get fines from Transit police for not having tickets.

We had more pizza at a cafe near Vatican city and then headed back to the airport.

Lucky to have lots of time due to waiting in lots of lines to retrieve our luggage and check in for RyanAir. Patience was key 😁Lue lisää

Zenobia Wreck
28. kesäkuuta 2025, Kypros ☀️ 28 °C
MS Zenobia was a Swedish-built Challenger-class RO-RO ferry launched in 1979 that capsized and sank in the Mediterranean Sea, close to Larnaca, Cyprus, in June 1980. She now rests on her port side in approximately 42 meters of water and was named by The Times, and many others, as one of the top ten wreck diving sites in the world. (Wikipedia)Lue lisää

Nicosia
29. kesäkuuta 2025, Kypros ☀️ 36 °C
We met a Cypriot couple while diving the Zenobia. They were like most divers - kind, fun and well traveled. They suggested visiting Nicosia and the Cyprus mountains. Although we did not have enough time to experience them, we at least got a windshield (windscreen for our Brit friends) view on the way to Pafos airport. Oh, it was 🔥 (43°C = 109.4° F)Lue lisää

Flying to Malta & Finding our STR
29. kesäkuuta 2025, Kypros ☀️ 30 °C
Ryanair is a budget airline and a bit of a circus 🤡. But they got us and our bags to Malta on time and in good shape. Airbnb was difficult to find bc the numberplate fell off and napping was sending us too far up the street, but we eventually found it. Really nice place, awesome view, best breakfast.Lue lisää
