Day 19 Sinkholes and steps

Anzac Day

Woke to a cold but beautiful morning, an eerily stillness with mist hanging over the water

Back over the VIC/SA border to explore the Mt Gambier area, a day of sinkholes and steps- lots of them up and down 😳

First stop Mount Schank- a Volcanic cone with a plank trail of 1038 steps, 1 km continuous rise to the crater rim proving spectacular 360 views.

Next Little Blue Lake-a swimming hole providing a constant water temp of 12 degrees and depth of 40 meters, then Blue Lake- with an average depth of 80m, 204m at its deepest, 5km circumference and holding
36000 megitres of water., and Valley Lake for lunch

Onto Umpherston Sink Hole then Cave Gardens in the town centre, stopping at the Woolstore Brewery before returning back to Vic via Hells Hole.Read more
