Drove down through torrential rain checked in and wandered around. First impressions very positive - maybe because it finally stopped raining!?

Views of Turin
12 mars 2018, Italien
⛅ 12 °C
Very few high rise buildings and a good range of architecture through the ages.
The graffiti certain adds atmosphere to the grandeur of the wall, bet the bloke who built it would be impressed.
Very reminiscent of Prague, and for that matter the red roof architecture of many Eastern European cities. However the grandeur of the courtyard (pictured later) and graffitied wall are so Praguesque if you hadn't said where you where I would have assumed Eastern Europe. Very interesting.

A gentle stroll along the main river flowing through Turin.
Rocca medievale

It is a reconstructed medieval village. We nearly did not go because the reviews called it a "fake" but in fact it was great fun and very well done.
Out and about Turin

Another sunny day and a chance to explore the city. The grid pattern of streets makes it easy to navigate with lots of small, individual shops. Well you can't have everything. ....

Well who would have believed it? 50 years! Had a super lunch at Eataly (Italy) - geddit. It's a supermarket specialising in Italian regional products with various places to eat scattered throughout.Läs mer
Oh it's a cake. Obviously Nigel, otherwise known as the Grasse pyromaniac, wasn't in charge of the candles .....
Tribute to Fiat
15 mars 2018, Italien

Turin is the home of Fiat cars sadly best known in the UK for the rust buckets of the 60s and 70s. But as their car museum shows they have a long and proud automotive tradition!

Plenty of non-Italian classic cars to see.
Pity they removed the roller skates from the door handles. I experienced a trip to Kent in one of these, which I wouldn't wish to repeat
Graffiti wall to wall

Turin is covered in graffiti which I loved! Creative, great colours, political, and downright rude.
More great graffiti

A few more I enjoyed. No blank surface is left unadorned!
Egyptian Museum - real people

Second only to Cairo in number of artefacts and very well presented. Arranged chronologically and everything clearly labelled in English. Audio guide a bit redundant.
