    I started my layover with a sushi dinner and a visit to the Thermae Yu onsen in Shinjuku. This was my third visit to this foreigner-friendly onsen.

    The next morning, I ate a very satisfying breakfast at Ichiran Ramen before heading to Shinjuku Station to take the bus to Haneda. I was very amused by the bathroom with multiple rolls of toilet paper at Ichiran. Little did I suspect that a few months later, toilet paper would be the focal point of panic buying as Covid took hold in the United States.Read more
