    After I bid Charles and the pups goodbye, Trixie and I made our way to an Italian deli for breakfast before we headed to the airport. Today is Remembrance Day, and I happened to be in the Qantas Business Lounge at 11am when a minute of silence was observed. I haven't done this since leaving England.

    This was my sixth trip to Adelaide. I'm always happy to spend time here as Trixie and I go way back. Although we are very different people, we have an easy friendship stemming from shared experiences and values. It is an added bonus that Ryan emigrated there as well. Adelaide is also an underrated foodie destination; the quality and variety of food is unmatched for a city its size.

    Going to Australia at this time was also good for my soul. Australia stands in stark contrast to the current United States: multiculturalism is celebrated, society's most vulnerable are taken care of, people working in the trades are respected... the list goes on. There are times I wish I had emigrated there.
