Mount Stromlo Observatory

Our first stop today... on visit lookout day 😄. A beautiful sunny day with a light wind.
What an interesting place. Many of the original observatory buildings were lost in the 2003 bushfires. Their empty shells are scattered around. The views are fabulous. As with all the sites we visit in Canberra, there are beautiful trees and tasteful landscaping. We were amused by the gate with all the padlocks. No one's going to open it.Read more
