While exploring the Parachilna Gorge area, we drive to Blinman. An interesting old mining town. On arriving, we realised we had been here on our first trip to SA around 12 years ago.

The Heysen Trail

The north end of the Heysen Trail starts just up the road from where we are camped at Parachilna Gorge. The Trail travels 1200k south to Cape Javis.

Crossed into SA today. Pulled in the camp in the tiny town of Olary.
The rail line is on one side and an old pub just across the road. That about sums up the town.
Kinchega shearing shed

Back to Kinchega NP today. This time, we visited the heritage shearing shed. I love the smell of lanolin that is impregnated into the timbers of these old buildings. This has to be the most impressiveLeer más
Wildlife at Kinchega NP

Kinchega NP is only a short drive from our camp on the lake. We did the Lake Drive today and spotted lots of Emus, Roos, and Shingleback lizards.
A lovely NP to drive through. Good dirt roads.
Pelicans

Magnificent pelicans at the weir on Pamamaroo Lake. Part of the Darling River.
Menindee Lakes

I love places like this. So peaceful... watching the water gently lap against the shore. The pelicans drifted by.

Stopped for fuel at a Burringun roadhouse. Just over the Qld/NSW boarder.

Did a nice drive today. Heading back through Beaconsfield to Holwell Gorge. Was a rough walk, but it was worth it. Spotted some great fungi. Feeling very adventurous.
