    June 1 in Mongolia 🌬 20 °C

We arrived in Ulaanbaatar on the 31st and got a shuttle to our hostel in the inner city. We met some fellow travelers there, went out for something to eat, and finally got some shut-eye to be ready for our trip, which started early the next morning.

We woke up at 7am to pack our stuff and get breakfast. After a short while, our "trip-sitters" arrived at the hostel to pick us up – we hopped into our now beloved russian vintage van and drove off to get groceries for the road trip. We're getting a private tour because we were the only ones who booked at that time.

After three hours of straight driving, we had lunch at a rest facility and visited a temple site afterward, for which we had to cross narrow, bumpy offroad pathways through the pre-Gobi wasteland.

Near the temple, we stopped for the day at a genuine family who directly offered us a hot drink and some snacks. That's also our accommodation for the night :).

The days in Mongolia still feel a bit cold and quite windy. The sun and the blue sky frequently say hello before the wind drags them away again.

Having dinner now, and then I'm going to bed soon.
