• Day Trip to Uruguay

    20 gennaio, Uruguay ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

We took the ferry across the estuary of the River Plate (site of famous WW2 battle) from Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento, an historic city in Uruguay.

It was founded by the Portuguese in 1680, and known for its charming UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic quarter with Portuguese and Spanish colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and a lighthouse.

A very pleasant chill time wandering around the old streets and high-end gift shops. Excellent al fresco lunch at a cool restaurant.

The day ended with an Argentinian BBQ experience, which - not surprisingly - comprised of meat, followed by meat and finally meat!
