Chinchón

Today was our first day in Madrid! We started our day with a nice workout to kick off Presidents Club week. We then enjoyed a quick hotel breakfast which included omelet stations, smoked food bar, and good old hard boiled eggs for Molly. After this we departed for our first excursion which was a wine tasting and tour at a small private vineyard about 30 minutes outside Madrid. A couple of the wines we were able to try were Ciraz, cabfranc, and regular Cab! It was an awesome experience to get to see how the wine was made and barrel aging process. After that we were able to enjoy some light snacks and more wine including a 2008! Of course Kyle had to buy a couple bottles which resulted in the entire bus waiting for him.

We then headed off to the Chinchón region where we walked around the city and got to hear about a lot of history. This city is old and small so when we got there EVERYONE was partaking in a siesta. We ate a very cool restaurant where we enjoyed more wine and food. Molly got the salmon and Kyle got an entire Pork leg! We walked back to the bus and headed back to town for a quick turn around for our dinner!

We bussed out to Palladio Del Negralejo for a strolling dinner experience and a horse dancing show! It was quite unique to be able to see some old fashioned Spanish Culture with the horse dancing! We also were able to eat a taste of Spain as they brought numerous food options for us to try like Spanish BBQ, Paella, and octopus to name a few. We met another couple who we ended up closing down the party with before heading back for a couple drinks at the JW to end the night!Read more
