    Day 1 - Arrival & Foodhallen

    March 5 in the Netherlands ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We arrived in Amsterdam to beautiful weather and a pleasant 17°C. From the airport, we headed straight to our hotel, Citadines. The hotel is vibrant, filled with lots of different colors and beautifully decorated spaces.

After freshening up a bit, we made our way to Foodhallen. As the name suggests, it’s a large food hall offering a variety of cuisines. We tried a little bit of everything—tacos, wontons, corn dogs, and a Dutch specialty of flavorful meatballs. We also had a first for both of us: oysters. Before leaving, we picked up four beautiful tarts to take back to the hotel.

Already excited for the next day. 😊

  • Day 2 - 25'000 steps!

    March 6 in the Netherlands ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Our day began with a simple but important mission: finally try some of the food spots we had saved. First on the list was Lourens, where we went straight for their viral cookie croissant—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Flaky, warm, and filled with cookie goodness, it was the perfect way to start the morning.

Not long after, we made our way to the WONDR Experience, where we had reservations for 10:30 AM. And honestly, it was so much fun. WONDR is basically a giant playground designed for adults—full of colorful rooms, photo opportunities, and playful activities. You can jump into a ball pit, sing karaoke, and just embrace being silly for a while. Every room had a completely different theme, which kept things exciting as we moved through the space.

The highlight for us was definitely Bikini Bottom, the SpongeBob-themed area. That alone was reason enough for our visit, and it did not disappoint. Bright, nostalgic, and incredibly fun to explore. We spent about an hour there before heading back out.

Afterwards, we returned to the city centre and spent some time wandering around and popping into a few shops. A few hours of exploring later, we started getting hungry again and decided to try our luck at CHUN, hoping the queue wouldn’t be too long. Luckily, we only waited about 15 minutes, which felt completely reasonable—and the sandwiches were totally worth it.

Of course, no trip to the Netherlands is complete without a stroopwafel, so we grabbed one before heading back to the hotel for a quick break.

For dinner, we went to a cozy Mexican restaurant and ordered three different tacos to share. They were packed with flavor and the perfect end to the evening. After dinner, we took a walk through the Red Light District, soaking in the atmosphere before eventually making our way back to the hotel.

All in all, it was a day filled with great food, fun experiences, and plenty of exploring—definitely a day well spent. 🌍✨

  • Day 3 - Kesha Concert

    March 7 in the Netherlands ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

We started the day with a delicious breakfast before spending the morning wandering through the city and doing a bit of shopping.

Of course, we had to stop for the viral Fabel Friet before heading back to the hotel.

Later, we got ready for the Kesha concert. It was such a fun show—she has an incredible live voice and changed her outfit four times 😂. It definitely felt like a full performance, but somehow it still ended way too quickly!
