  • The Pub with No Food

    January 4, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

A great little town between Bundaberg and 1770, called Yandaran. Stay here overnight for free on the lawns out the back of the pub with the caravan. As long as you’re gonna spend something inside food drinks etc. When we arrived the boss came out and apologised, said sorry no food the food delivery truck arrived today with almost nothing on it.
Won’t be back out here until Friday so we have to feed ourselves tonight, damn.

  • Dinner at the Pub with No Food.

    January 4, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Seeing as the kitchen was closed they allowed us to cook a lamb steaks and veggies and everything and bring it back into the pub dining room to eat, so are great people, great location. 24 hour access to toilets as well which saved us from having to use our own.Read more

  • Summit 1770

    January 5, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

We’ve arrived at the stunning Summit 1770 and what a glorious park this is. Huge sites with slabs all level power and water but they do prefer that you just use the water to fill your own tanks. Not connect to mains supply as they’re all tank water supplies, so they don’t want someone’s hose blowing off and then draining out all the tank water, makes sense.
Fantastic spot for the beach the next few days. Located between 1770 and Agnes Waters.

  • Town of 1770

    January 5, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 24 °C

1770 is really stunning and peaceful place, but this time of year it is just packed with tourists galore can’t even get a carpark at the shopping centre.

The tides are massive up here 5 1/2 meter tides, so when tides out all the boats are grounded as far as you can see and when the tides in it’s lapping at the top of the docks. Amazing to see.

Unfortunately looks like some rain is settling in for the next couple of days so will wait it out and see, maybe our boat hire trip might be off.

  • Doggy Playground

    January 6, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

This site even has a full dog off leash area with its own dam for swimming.
Bronson had a great Frolic in the area and couldn’t get him out to head back to the van.

  • Agnes Waters

    January 6, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

Well the beaches up here are sort of okay if you don’t mind all the warning signs, but the tide variances are so massive that at low tide water goes out so far that the drop off is huge, and a good amount of gullies that provides safe swimming area without any rips so good for kids.Read more

  • Dinner at the Rusty Pelican

    January 6, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Can’t come to 1770 without stopping at the Rusty Pelican. It’s a landmark, real beach feel and rustic.
Sue went with the Barra and I chose the Red Emperor.
My Red Emperor was just stunning and malt vinegar on the chips was perfect.Read more

  • K Bar 1770

    January 6, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Time to end the day with a coldie on the water at K Bar across from the Rusty Pelican. Facing direct west it would be a tremendous location to film or shoot a Sunset. Maybe another night.

  • Sunset 1770

    January 7, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 25 °C

Back at K Bar tonight to view a sunset. We’re planning on steak tonight but after a fellow traveller at the RV park turned with a gorgeous pizza, or became a changed menu.

Headed off to the Servo for our pizza and with a 1 hr 40 minute wait we decided to head back to the bar and wait for sunset.Read more

Right in the middle of town and great access to everything.

  • Burrum Heads

    January 9, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

The coastal areas up here are just amazing, beautiful beaches and glorious sand. This time of year though, there plenty of warning signs from November through March about the stingers jellyfish and the Irukandji. So beautiful beaches with a sting.Read more

  • Toogoom

    January 10, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Morning tea by the ocean at Toogoom. Full tide this morning provides such a different view than at low tide. Water was lapping at our feet at the dock. At low tide as can be seen from other pictures goes hundreds of metres off shore.Read more
