Disney Sea! And it’s pouring!!!

So, it looks like Denise may get off the hook and this will remain my responsibility for the foreseeable future. I didn’t understand exactly, but the look on her face said, “try to make me, I dare you”. I decided I wasn’t tackling that beast until I had gone through my sake tasting so I knew which ones had the most alcohol to dull the impending pain!

As it was,, we woke up Wednesday morning, both excited and a little wary. We knew rain was on its way, but what did that mean exactly. February is one of the driest months in Tokyo and Darren assured us, even when it did rain, it was more of mist than a rain. Well, guess what, The Stalheim’s are in Japan now, so all bets are off! and yes, it was not just raining, it was pouring, to the point that the weather app was calling for “Gale” warnings! Good try Darren.

So, at least being prepared with our Iceland and Ireland rain gear (mainly because we were going to use it for skiing, not Disney), we layered up and I mean layered up! We had rain layers and warm layers and undergarments and poncho’s and umbrella’s. We had it all. What did the Japanese have? Miniskirts, stockings, and jeans with an umbrella! Mind you, it’s also 50 degrees and it’s only going to get colder as the day goes along, but hey, what do I know….

Seeing the lines filling up outside DisneyLand Tokyo 90 minutes before opening did not fill me we excitement that the lines would be less. Oh no, the Japanese take their Disney tickets seriously. I’m talking we waited an hour, in the pouring rain, in 50 degree weather, just to get through security! Fortunately the line from security to getting in the park was minimal which was key as this fruit needed to be juiced! And preferably in the bathroom vs a Disney security line!Read more
