    Hipodromo Sunday

    March 23 in Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We joined in the fun at the Hipodromo Argentino de Palmero on Sunday. This racetrack was established in 1876 and currently hosts races three days each week. The facilities has 1,473 stalls for horses and a few resident cats. It is the most important track in Argentina and is completely free to the public. It is a family friendly environment and we were fortunate to experience this cultural moment during our travels.
The racetrack is just blocks from our Airbnb and has races about 3 times per week. The public spaces of this racetrack facility are beautiful and the grounds are immaculate. Although there are several indoor restaurants including an onsite brewery, there were also tons of food trucks/food stalls offering drinks, barbecue and dessert options. I took a few pictures of the cooking.
