    In the afternoon we visited Cahokia Mounds. At one time this was the largest city in North America, with a population of nearly 40,000. It's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While there, we saw reconstructions of the stockade wall that once surrounded the city, the earthen mounds that were originally constructed by the city's inhabitants, and a reconstruction of their calendar -- Woodhenge.Read more
