First Khmer funeral yesterday for me

Makaras grandmother died 10 am Saturday and official funeral all day yesterday and this morning. As you can see much rice porridge was cooked and eaten with different condiments!!!!??!! I did not partake.
Body was in house and after many Buddhist prayers the coffin was carrierd out to the Temple where the tower was set for burning the body at 9pm. We all followed and walked around funeral pyre 3 times. Makaras sister took my hand. See her in photo. Also photo of Makaras mum in white with me.Read more
