Bolonia & Baleo Claudia

Marcus hatte mir von der Düne von Bolonia erzählt, wo sich die Wüste langsam den Berg rauf frisst ... das musste ich mir anschauen! Es schaut echt beeindruckend aus, diese Wüste auf dem Hügel (man sieht sie sogar von Tarifa aus!). Ich hatte eigentlich vor sie zu durchwandern, hatte aber nicht genug Wasser mit und bin daher umgekehrt 😅

Außerdem wurde dort eine römische Siedlung - Baleo Claudia - gefunden. Ziemlich groß, mit Thermalbäder und einer Manufaktur für eine Fischsauce "Garum" die ins ganze römische Imperium verschifft wurde.

Marcus had told me about the dunes of Bolonia where the desert slowly eats up the mountain... I had to see that! It looks really impressive, this desert on the hill (you can even see it from Tarifa!). I actually planned to hike through them, but didn't have enough water with me and therefore turned back 😅

In addition, a Roman settlement - Baleo Claudia - was found there. Quite big, with thermal baths and a factory for a fish sauce "Garum" that was shipped all over the Roman Empire.Read more
