Day one

First day of our trip. Stopped at Otway for tree top climbing and some zip lines and had our first adventure. So far all smooth, no fire under the bonnet and the van still behind us 💯. Winning 😂.
Portland

Two nights at Portland Bay caravan park, a great way to settle in and recover from all the packing and organising pre travel. Our experienced neighbours gave us some great caravanning tips.
Dartmoore and Mout Gambier

En route to Robe! Impressed by Mount Gambier and the Blue Lake..
Robe!

Stayed at Robe HP 25/2 - 2/3. Spacious, clean and close to coastal bike track, we eased into 4WDing and caravanning life. Everyone raved about this place before we left and we could finally see why.Read more
Coonowarra wines - Linconfield winery

Day trip to see some spectacular calcite caves and taste my fave Coonawara wines before leaving Robe on 2/3
Naracoorte caves

What a fun and educational tour of the rare bat caves. On way back we got some heavy rain and the navigation stopped showing the road ahead, probably something we’ll be experiencing more oftenRead more
Getting to Port Elliot

Adelaide Airport

After 26hrs of flying on 3 planes, at 77 years of age, Dad’s here!
Port Elliot

First week in Port Elliot. We’ve had a windy patch, not great for neither fishing or swimming. So we enjoyed the simple joys of being together - and a couple of birthdays.
Ella has turned 11

Special bday with Palko this year, enjoying a day at a local animal farm and as requested, sushi train!
Goolwa Animal farm

What a treat to play with all the little animals today. The owners were very welcoming and for the girls this was definitely a highlight. Happy birthday Ella, our little animal lover!
Port Willunga

Exploring the west side of the Fleurieu and its crystal clear water - first go on my SUP since the knee op!!!
Encounter bike trail

A gorgeous bike trail connecting Victor Harbor and Goolwa, 30km one way. Over the time here I’ve enjoyed cruising along the many beaches and having some me-time.
Carricalinga Beach near Second Valley

A little birds from my work told me this was one of the best beaches they knew. And it proved to be just that. Peaceful paddle, swim and kayak fishing on a gorgeous sunny day ☀️, it was a perfect day.
Surfing lesson at Middleton

A great experience for the girls, they both got hooked and got to stand up! We hired surf boards for the next day to keep the energy going (but it wasn’t the same)😉.
Shingleback wine tasting

On our way up to Adelaide we enjoyed a stop in McLaren vale and sampled some lovely reds.
West Beach, Glenelg and Adelaide

Five days at Big4 Retreat enjoying swimming in West Beach, a bit of city life, eating out and pool time. Palko got us all girls an opal jewellery in Glenelg, which we will treasure. Ella made friendsRead more
