    Bali Travel Essentials

    April 22, 2024 in Indonesia ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

    • Ideal Duration: 6–7 days (We did 5, but it felt rushed!)

    • Avoid: Drinking tap water as it can cause Bali Belly. Stick to bottled water always.

    • Must-Have Apps:
Grab / Gojek – for local transport
12Go – for ferry and intercity bookings
Rome2Rio – for figuring out how to get around

    • Connectivity: eSIM from Palego.com (Activate at Denpasar airport using Wi-Fi)

    • Cash Tip: Withdraw directly from BCA ATMs at the airport. ₹100 fee per withdrawal at Indonesian ATMs. I used my Jupiter debit card to avoid the forex markup fees.

    • Local Commute: Rented a scooter just outside Denpasar airport.

  • Ferry To Nusa

    April 23, 2024 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

    Midday: Headed to Sanur Harbor
    • Parked our scooter at the harbor
    • Took a ferry to Nusa Penida (can book via 12Go or directly at the counter)
    • While many people opt for a day tour—early morning ferry, a few touristy photo spots, and back by evening—we chose to stay overnight, and highly recommend doing the same. Staying a night lets you truly soak in the island’s raw beauty, slower pace, and peaceful vibes that day tours just can’t offer.Read more

  • Worth The Diamond

    April 24, 2024 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

    • Next wmorning we left early for Diamond Beach. Pro tip: Arrive early to avoid the heavy tourist crowd—great for peaceful views and photos

We trekked down to the beach and though the beach looks like a dream, swimming isn’t ideal due to strong waves and large rocks. The steep trek was challenging—especially for Sam—so we later questioned if it was worth the effort

Originally planned to visit Kelingking Beach next, but skipped it. The trek is similar and swimming isn’t allowed there either, so it felt repetitive after Diamond Beach.

  • Ferry Back To Sanur

    April 24, 2024 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

We caught the 1 PM ferry from Nusa Penida back to Sanur. The next one wasn’t until 4 PM, so we were glad we made it on time.

We returned our rented scooter right at Banjar Nyuh Harbour, booked our ferry tickets on the spot, and hopped on for the ride back to Bali.Read more
