Valencia, Estació del Nord

Der Bahnhof Valencia Norte ist der Hauptbahnhof Valencias. In ihm treffen sich alle Bahnlinien mit iberischer Spurweite, die normalspurigen Gleise enden am Bahnhof Valencia Joaquín Sorolla. Anders als der Name andeutet, liegt der Bahnhof im Süden der Innenstadt. Die örtliche Stierkampfarena befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Der Bahnhof wurde nach elfjähriger Bauzeit 1917 als Kopfbahnhof eröffnet, nachdem bereits seit 1851 an derselben Stelle ein Bahnhof bestand. Das Gebäude ist eines der Hauptwerke des valencianischen Jugendstils.

The North Station is the major railway station in Valencia. It is located in the city centre next to the Plaza de Toros, the city's bullring.
The building is one of the main works of the Valencian Art Nouveau and was declared Good of Cultural Heritage in 1987.Read more
