    LA Day One

    Well we staying in the iconic Venice beach! We hit a cool little one bedroom apartment basically 20 meters from the beach. Day one we walked the 5 or so km from our apartment to Santa Monica and the famous Pier!

    Man we saw a re-run of the fruit cakes in Vegas popularly named the Venice freak show in our walk!

    Buskers, cyclists, rollerbladers, muscle men, gymnasts, everlasting sand, peculiar people.... total eclectic mix of personalities, ages and shapes and sizes......

    Pretty much people watched solidly for the whole walk as we took in an entirely different city!

    We had dinner in a chick little Italian restaurant over looking the promenade in Santa Monica which as always provides entertainment and value.

    Think our senses have returned to normal after leaving the over drive of Vegas !!!!

    LA Hop on and Hop off Tour

    We were successful in our plight to master the hop on and hop off bus after the terrible attempt in San Francisco. Yay we did it !!!

    Toured through Santa Monica, Beverley Hills and Hollywood today.

    Some shirt facts of the day if I am remember them

    The walk of fame is 15 blocks long

    Oj simpsons home has been remodeled and the street number changed by new owners to avoid tourists... everyone still knows where it is and the bus driver was not convinced he is guilty 😳

    The farmers markets were amazing as was the little Parisian cafe we had lunch in complete with grab your own blankets to lay on the grass and enjoy the sunshine.... was very cool

    The Beverley hills shield is only in 5 locations - and is
    copy righted.

    In each street on Beverley Hills they have been allocated a different species of tree for the front of each home in the street ... themed in each street. fire hydrants have been painted silver here as they more appropriate for Beverley hills 🤔

    Beverley hills separate from LA as is Santa Monica

    People were Walking their dogs in Prams?!?!?

    We saw
    Fox studios
    Sunset blvd
    Sunset strip
    Rodeo drive
    Chinese Theatre
    Walk of Fame
    Hollywood Iconic Sign
    viper Room and so forth and so more !!

    Exhausted we found a quaint little Peruvian restaurant for Tea and enjoyed an early night :)    Leggi altro

    Last Day LA

    Happiness is giving to others without expecting anything in return ❤💕 this is how I feel about LA.

    Today we people watched and enjoyed the sites close to home. A lazy 16km tandem ride along the beach amongst other riders, roller skaters, walkers, runners and skate Boarders! Felt amazing and free.

    Breakfast at Santa Monica and then back to explore Marina Del Ray and The Venice Canals and finding the wall art scattered around the place ...... pretty much then spent the Arvo people watching (our self named gigantor back at Muscle Beach🤗), talking about life and our future plans ❤ and genuinely feeling grateful for all we have in life and for the wonderful memories these past few week has given us together.

    If i can download the homeless pianist here, watch it. And if you know chad you know what probs happened next. Warmed my heart.

    That time you get to go First Class

    We were so lucky and grateful today to be upgraded to First Class for the 6 hr flight to Hawaii.

    We were like school kids so excited and amazing what a bit of thank you and kindness can give you! Our host was the best :) and even loaded us up with free drinks for our stay and tips on Hawaii.

    It was amazing to be able to lie down and sleep on a flight and pee without queuing hahha !!! No more close calls!!

    Today is a dream come true for Chad :) I'm so excited for him to be in Hawaii. And making this happen for him makes me smile and happy to the core ! He even got a swim in at the beach today!

    And he left me a little love note :) for my collection haha

    Pretty much going to run ourselves ragged ... have 30 hrs to sleep on the way home!

    First arvo and night in Hawaii

    Smells beautiful, fresh air, happy smiling people everywhere, mysterious clouds and blue skies ...... what's not to love from what we have seen already !!!!

    Kona - Big Island

    Up at 4am this morning or thereabouts ready for a quick flight to Big Island, Hawaii. This island can fit all other islands of Hawaii within its perimeter thus its name.

    So I'll share with you some facts I learnt today ....

    The view of Waikiki on take off was super cool :) and flew over diamond head crater as well. Then landing on Kona was surprised to see the amount of volcanic rock covering the island near he airport from previous lava flow. This from lava flowing dating back to 1801

    Big Island is the youngest Island being 800,000 years old and has 5 volcanos located on it. There are two completely different weather systems from the east to the west. 25 inches vs 130 inches of rain !

    The haze seen around the island is due to VOG volcanic gas or sulphur dioxide coming from the Island

    Our tour guide Sun was awesome and so so informative on everything cultural, ecological and touristy of the Island....

    We discovered they do macadamia nuts in multiple of different flavours including spam.....

    Spam .... the Hawaiian steak .... who would have thought

    Two different sorts of volcanic rock ... I'll attach pictures as I can't spell it haha

    2500 degrees fareinheit when it comes out as it cools to 1600 degrees fareinheit it starts to look like AA volcanic rock

    Coconuts aren't native to Hawaii

    You could sneak home some lava rock from the goddess of fire however fables say you will have bad luck and people have posted rock back before

    Population of big island is 198,000
    Honolulu 1 million people

    80 feet tall / 24 meters rainbow falls

    Longest lava Tube in the national park is 23 miles long in this park . Location has not been disclosed as at yet

    Kilauea is the only volcano in the world experiencing 2 eruptions at the same time

    Most of the beaches on Big Island are made of Black sand - it is made of course volcanic rock. As lava is pouring into the ocean it breaks it into smaller pieces and the ocean wears it down even more and it releases a naturally formed gem stone.
    Big Island also has 1 of only 4 in the world green sand beaches - (emerald colour) big island and only one white sand beach.

    The Banyan tree is just one tree but as the branches/leaves hangout out touch the fertile ground it makes roots and forms another trunk
