After a gentle walk up to the castle and a adventure playground we had lunch around the harbour (prawns again for finlay), we took a boat trip out to the ww2 forts off the coast and then to huge offshore windfarm . The forts were built to provide AA gun platforms to give some protection to the Thames estuary from German bombers going into London docklands.
