Here we are.. just arrived at the Maritim Airport Hotel in Düsseldorf. I really like starting my trips one night earlier - and staying the night at the airport gives me the safety of not getting stuck on the highway or missing my train 😁 I like staying at the SPA area, with two different Saunas and a swimming pool.Read more

The taxi ride took about 30mins and got us to our hotel: Hilton Garden Inn Mall of the Emirates. We were welcomed by friendly staff, directly taking our baggage. Check In was quick and uncomplicated, so after 5 minutes we were taken to our room, got an introduction of how everything works and where to find it.Read more

Wow.. what an experience! Flying the Emirates A380 was a pleasure - I'm almost 2m and I had enough space to enjoy the 6.5h flight from Düsseldorf to Dubai. The food was delicious, the flight crew was super friendly, flight entertainment was excellent 👍Read more

Just the world's tallest building ‍😏 We actually spent the whole first day discovering the Mall of Emirates, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Metro 😃 And what I've learned so far: next time I'm in Dubai, I will skip the metro and walking (I think this is typically German 😄 ).. we kept walking and walking and walking until we reached the metro station just to find out that at our destination station everything was occupied by construction works and we couldn't go anywhere.. 👎Read more

️ It really is another world..
The airport experience was good, everything was easy to find, although it took a while to reach immigration, but that's the deal with big airports
Immigration took a bit longer than I expected, as only few gates were opened. I actually thought I could use the electronic gates, but the officer insisted that we can only use the regular passport control. Having passed immigration we headed to baggage claim (our bags were not on the belt yet.. after almost 1.5h of waiting at immigration 🤔) and then made our way through customs. At 2h in the morning we headed to the taxi area and were confronted with thousands of other travelers.. I first thought that this was going to take a while, but I was proven wrong
