Bearsies!!!

And then it happened! We'd seen several bears from the car last summer in Shenandoah - including a baby bear eating a deer by the side of the road. And we saw fresh scat on the trail when we were backpacking - but never a bear while hiking... until now! If was a beautiful cinnamon color,up the slope a bit. We loved him right away and had to fight the urge to squeeeeeeze him so much!

Later on the way back other hikers told us a bear had just crossed the trail ahead of us bug we couldn't find him. I know it was this bear looking for hugs!!Read more
