Starting Up Lembert Dome

Having seen the valley twice, we decided to head East towards Tioga Pass. Before we left camp there was a bit of a mix up about who was taking our site. The pressure to get a campsite was intense because all of the campgrounds East of us were closed - including Tuolumne Meadows! I realized how lucky we were to get the spot we did!

The drive out was gorgeous - and I could enjoy it more because we weren't rushing to find a place to camp. Just past Tuolumne Meadows is Lemberg Dome. We decided to do the 4 mile loop around the back of the dome with a scramble to the top.

In the last picture you can see a sweet deer that walked right up near to us, did a little turn around like a cat, and lay down to rest. We loved watching her ears wiggle!Læs mere
