Swimming hole - or not

We spotted what would be the perfect swimming hole - but the ranger said the brook was off limits to protect the spawning Salmon. We were touched to read about how the mother Salmon swim all the way upstream to spawn and then die from exhaustion - their bodies becoming important nutrients in the stream.

We also red about how the redwoods are very shallow rooted - but they intertwine their roots with their neighbor's roots to help provide stability. It's like they are holding hands under the earth.Read more
