Neuer Tag, neuer Nationalpark und wieder zeitiges Aufstehen (wieso mache ich das eigentlich so viel im Urlaub? Und wieso fällt es mir hier so leicht und an Arbeitstagen nicht?😅). Kurz nach 6 gabs Frühstück, dann ging es zum Bus (in meiner Wahrnehmung der langsamste der Welt) und gegen 10 bin ich im „Basecamp“ angekommen.

Jetzt heißt es, hoch aufs Plateau zu gehen - ich dachte es ist eine coole Idee, 1.300 HM auf 6 km Distanz bei kuscheligen 35 Grad zurückzulegen. Ein bisschen irre bin halt auch ich. Meine Herzfrequenz hat mich zu Pausen gezwungen, also gab es gleich bei der ersten Möglichkeit eine Kokosnuss. Nachdem die Big Mama, die sie mir verkauft hat gesehen hat, dass meine Beine ganz dreckig sind, hat sie mir bedeutet sie hochzulegen. Dann nahm sie Wasser und hat meine Beine gewaschen.😅 war etwas weird, aber auch sehr lustig.

Was mir sehr leid tat, waren all die Träger auf der Strecke. Alle Getränke, Lebensmittel etc. werden in den Nationalpark getragen, die Jungs schultern da locker 70 kg. Man kann auch seinen Rucksack hochbringen lassen, was für mich natürlich nicht in Frage kam.

Im Nationalpark selbst leben einige wilde Elefanten, vor denen auf dem Weg immer wieder gewarnt wird. Die Strecke war super challenging und oben angekommen war ich erschöpft und glücklich. Ich glaub das war wohl das härteste Workout seid dem Ende des Sunday Bootcamp.

On top war essen, duschen, umziehen und Zelt beziehen angesagt. Ich hab mich gegen einen dicken Schlafsack entschieden, was sich in der Nacht noch als schlechte Idee erweisen wird. Zum Abschluss des Tages bin ich noch mit 3 Thais zum Cliff gegangen um den Sonnenuntergang anzuschauen. Der Ausblick ins Tal ist zur aktuellen Zeit wegen Hitze und dem Abbrennen der Felder und dem daraus entstehenden Smog nicht so klar sondern sehr diesig, aber der Sonnenuntergang war toll und zum genießen. Während alle fleißig Fotos machten, hat eine der Thais die Szenerie gemalt und auch mich mit gezeichnet. Eine süße Maus.

New day, new national park and getting up early again (why do I do this so much on vacation? And why is it so easy for me here and not on working days?😅). Shortly after 6 we had breakfast, then we went to the bus (in my opinion the slowest in the world) and around 10 I arrived at the "base camp".

Now it's time to go up to the plateau - I thought it was a cool idea to cover 1,300 meters in altitude over a distance of 6 km in cozy 35 degrees. I'm a bit crazy too. My heart rate forced me to take breaks, so I had a coconut at the first opportunity. After the Big Mama who sold it to me saw that my legs were really dirty, she told me to put them up. Then she took some water and washed my legs.😅 was a bit weird, but also very funny.

I felt very sorry for all the porters on the route. All drinks, food, etc. are carried into the national park, the boys easily carry 70 kg. You can also have your backpack brought up, which of course was out of the question for me.

There are a few wild elephants living in the national park itself, and you are warned about them repeatedly along the way. The route was super challenging and when I got to the top I was exhausted and happy. I think that was probably the hardest workout since the end of the Sunday Bootcamp.

On top of that, I had to eat, shower, change clothes and put the tent in. I decided against a thick sleeping bag, which would prove to be a bad idea at night. At the end of the day, I went to the cliff with 3 Thais to watch the sunset. The view of the valley is not so clear at the moment because of the heat and the burning of the fields and the resulting smog, but it is very hazy, but the sunset was great and something to enjoy.
